ABOUT US

Supernatural is a movement that aims to raise environmental awareness of people throughout Serbia. Supernatural brings together young people and professionals from the multitude of areas such as art, design, film, architecture, education, ecology and environmental management.

Our movement also includes work on specific environmental and artistic projects that contribute to the sustainable development of Serbia, protection and preservation of environment: the preservation of planet Earth.

The first project developed under the Supernatural concept is the Supernatural Festival that is held annually on Earth Day 22nd of April, at Hajdučka Česma, Košutnjak, Belgrade.

Supernatural festival in nature, is a multimedia artistic project, which brings together people of all ages, where the music and other forms of art get people closer to the environmental problems of today, as well as solutions and new ideas for sustainable development such as recycling, renewable energy, and healthy lifestyle.

This way, Supernatural tends to make a positive influence on the collective consciousness of people regarding the importance of a healthy and pure way of life - in harmony with nature.

SUPERNATURAL FESTIVAL

Supernatural festival in nature was launched in 2007. with the basic idea of gathering young people and providing them with a chance to get closer to nature and ecology through music and art. Supernatural, as a multimedia project started by launching Supernatural Festival, whose basic goal is to raise environmental awareness of people throughout Serbia.

What makes Supernatural stand out from the rest of the festivals is that it takes place during the daytime, in the sunshine, getting all the best from the fresh air of Košutnjak. Visitors can rest in the nature, enjoy the music or even sport activities.

Over 20 ecological organizations were present at the festival with their own creative programs and workshops promoting environmental awareness. Futura faculty for applied ecology, ORCA organization for Responsible Care of Animals, Recan recycling fond, Priroda organic food restaurant, Ekosfera journal for popularization of an ecological way of life, and many more. More than 15,000 visitors helped Supernatural to become an established Belgrade festival, totally authentic and different from the rest when it comes to location, atmosphere, and positive vibrations.

Supernatural 2009 promotional video!

In the 2009. Supernatural introduced two interesting and innovative features. Main stage run entirely on biodiesel fuel. Biodiesel is sustainable and green alternative for the fossil fuels. This was known as a "biodiesel stage". The second interesting feature was the recycling policy of the Supernatural Festival. We wanted to promote and establish the culture of recycling among the festival visitors. So, the conditions to enter the festival were to bring three aluminum cans and three plastic bottles as well, and recycle them at the festival gates.

The recycling containers were spread throughout the festival ground with few big ones at the festival gates. Further more, the whole recycling issue was covered by numerous workshops with program for children and adults.

In the year 2010. and many more to come, we will try to show people that care for nature and environment doesn't have to be a set of dull and boring commitments. Instead we will try and prove that ecological way of life is a creative process which can put music to use by making it spread general environmental awareness.

VISION / MISSION

Supernatural movement has a vision of Serbia as a clean and sustainable state, which gets its energy from renewable energy sources (such as sun, wind, water, geothermal energy, biomass...)

* Serbia as an advanced environmentally aware state where the dominant values get to be knowledge, culture and ecology.

Therefore, mission of the Supernatural movement will be to cooperate with other governmental and nongovernmental organizations on the realization of its vision which will not only contribute to the improvement of our lives, but will not deny the future generations of their right to have a healthy life in harmony with nature as well.
